Matthew Petrinitz

Matthew graduated with honors from NCSU with a bachelors of science in human biology. He is currently pursuing his masters of clinical mental health counseling at Catawba College. Matthew has a focus on adult clients with a specialization in family and multi-generational clients, but also sees couples and individuals. Matthew works with clients with anxiety/depression, substance abuse, personality disorders, emotional dysregulation, life transition/adjustment, and mood disorders.

Matthew primarily leans on existential, humanistic, and structural family systems theory approaches. This means that he tends to focus on what gives clients’ lives meaning and examines them through the lens of the family system that shapes a client’s values and cultural identity. Matthew is deeply focused on the individual needs of each client and carefully tailors his approach to each individuals needs
